Squirrel Proof Bird Feeders
One of the most common problems we face when feeding wild birds is keeping squirrels out of our bird feeders.
We suggest that you try the following.
1. Squirrels can jump 4-5 feet up from the ground and 10 feet across. So, if you have at least 10 feet
    from which a squirrel can jump to your feeders, you can use baffles to keep them off. A "tube"
    baffle placed around a poll or post, 5 feet or so off the ground will stop squirrels from climbing up
    poles to your feeder. Using the 10 feet rule, a "hanging" baffle will stop squirrels from getting to yourÂ
    feeders from above. We have some baffles listed below that we know will do the job if the
    distance requirements are met.
2.  If you don't have ten feet of clearance, then you should consider a "squirrel proof feeder". Yes, there
    really are squirrel proof feeders! We have tried several in our yard that are very effective, some of
    which we offer below.
