Three of the most common problems we face when feeding hummingbirds seem to be the following.
1. What kind of hummingbird feeder will attract the most hummingbirds?
2. How do we stop male hummingbirds from dominating the feeders?
3. How do we stop ants from getting on the hummingbird feeders?
We suggest that you try the following.
1. Hummingbirds are attracted to red, so be sure that your feeder has some red color on it. We believeÂ
that is more important than purchasing an expensive fancy feeder. All of the feeders below that we Â
    carry are red.
Also, make sure there is plenty of perches for the hummingbirds to land and feed. Our feeders haveÂ
either a ring attached to the base or individual perches that provide plenty of room for them to feed.
2.  Place a second feeder such that the male can't see both at the same time, for example around the
corner of your house. In our judgment, it is better to purchase two smaller feeders rather that one
large feeder to help solve this problem. Below we have several that range from 8 oz. to 16 oz.
3. Place our ant moat above your feeder and hang your feeder below the moat.  Fill the moat about half
full of water so that the ants can't float across to your feeder. We have an inexpensive ant moatÂ
that will absolutely stop the ants.
