This style house has a forward tilt, yet level floor, to help keep predators from getting in the house. Like the rest of all bluebird houses, it should be mounted on a pole away from trees and about 5 feet above ground level. Be sure to install a "stove pipe" baffle on the pole to prevent predators from getting inside. Coveside Conservation really knows what they're doing. In fact, they make birdhouses for nearly every kind of wild bird in the country. This as an excellent alternative design to the standard bluebird house.
