This design by Coveside Conservation lets you to look at the chicks and clean out the house after they have left the nest. Also, since almost all bluebirds nest near the back of a house, it has a vertical piece of wood in the middle of the inside that stops squirrels and raccoons from reaching the chicks. Bluebirds like it and it's safer than some other houses.
